Blackboard Browser Compatibility

Blackboard is only compatible with certain internet browsers. Using Blackboard with a incompatible browser may result in random errors within the system and/or the inability to access the system at all. In order to be fully compatible with Blackboard, please be sure to use one of the following browsers:

For PCs

  • Internet Explorer
    • Version 6.0 for Windows XP
    • Version 7.0 for Windows XP and Vista

  • Internet Explorer Version 8.0 (for Windows XP and Vista)

    Internet Explorer 8 is classified by Blackboard Inc. as "compatible" but not "certified" with Blackboard 8. This means that you may encounter some errors within Blackboard 8 when using Internet Explorer 8. For more information, click here.

    • Version 2.0 for Windows XP and Vista
    • Version 3.0 for Windows XP and Vista

For Macs

  • Safari
    • Version 2 for OS 10.4 and 10.5
    • Version 3 for OS 10.4 and 10.5
