Many USI courses utilize Blackboard, an Internet-based course management software. Instructors may choose to use any of the following features of this software:

Student Web pages

Group Web pages

Online Gradebook

Real-time Chat

Course Discussion Board

Uploading existing web pages or images

Click here to access Blackboard. If you do not have login credentials, you
may visit the Blackboard site as a guest to preview course sites that allow
guest access. Most course sites are limited to enrolled students only.

When USI students register for a distance learning course using Blackboard,
they will receive a letter from the USI Learning Center or from their academic
school that includes information concerning login credentials (username and
initial password). USI students can also find their usernames by clicking here
and entering the necessary information. Initial passwords follow this
protocol:
               The 8-digit number consisting of the last 4 digits of your SSN
               and your 4-digit birthday (month and day). So, if your SSN is
               333-22-1111, and your birthday is on February 10, your initial
               password is 11110210.
