
Information
Technology offers leadership, consultation, and logistical support
to the campus community related to technology-assisted teaching and learning
tools and techniques.
- Presentation support
services include deployment and maintenance of multimedia presentation
technology across campus and at satellite locations where the University
offers credit and non-credit courses.
- IT is responsible for the University's
growing and fully-accredited distance education
effort including course and
program development in cooperation with each University college,
professional development for distance education faculty, creation and
implementation of distance education policy and strategic planning, and
coordination with state and national partners in
distance education via
membership in the Indiana College Network (ICN), Sloan Consortium, eLearning
Guild, and the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA).
- IT furthers both
distance education and
classroom teaching technologies by providing numerous
professional development for faculty and staff, a technical help desk,
support for the campus learning management system (Blackboard), and full
multimedia production capabilities including: multimedia services including video
and audio production, animation and graphics development, copyright
clearance, DVD and CD authoring, podcasting and video streaming, and
video and web conferencing.
